How often does Matane check for new chapters?

You choose in Settings, Library, Library updates: off, every 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours, or weekly. It also checks when the app opens if the interval has passed, and waits while you are offline. See New chapters.

Why did a new chapter not show up?

• Library and category checks skip completed manga, manga you have not started and manga with many unread chapters (all configurable). Checking one manga ignores these rules.
• Matane only checks while it runs. Turn on Close to tray (and Start at login) for background checks.
• The source may be down or the extension out of date.

Can I check by hand?

Yes, for everything, a category or one manga, or with Check for updates in the command palette.

Can new chapters download by themselves?

Yes, but it is a setting you turn on. See Automatic downloads.

Do I get a notification?

Yes (Notify about new chapters): always for automatic checks, and for manual ones when the window is in the background.
